Let it be

Ugh, so sorry. MIA for too long. Things are good though, super busy but good. The last few weeks have just flown by. Been working way over my pay grade lately :) At home and at work...he he. A quick update on my latest project though, and the rest of my life-as-we-know-it update to follow shortly.

This is for my DT project, a mixed media on canvas. I used a transparency for the picture, drew outlines on the canvas where it would be before placing it. i thought it looked less like a photo and more like a transfer. Then I painted it with acrylic paint, took a page from one of my favorite essays in "Riverteeth" by David James Duncan and highlighted random words, phrases etc that spoke to me. I outlined them in pencil, dry brushed white paint over the text around it and taped it with masking tape. I used scrap pieces of paper for the rain and clouds and magazine cut outs for some of the words and phrases. I also used Hambly rub ons and making memories font rub ons. I wanted to make a piece that reflected letting go and recovery. I made this as a dedication to one of my best friends who has been very sick for the past few years. She is a big Beatles fan. I miss her lots, and of course wish I could be closer to her while she's recovering.
